The second phase of St James' Market, a decade-long regeneration project to revitalise the historic St James' area south of Piccadilly Circus. 2016 delivered phase one, which comprises two buildings - one Grade II-listed, one contemporary - and one new public space.
The second phase will create one urban block composed of six existing buildings bordered by Haymarket, Charles II Street, St Alban's Stree and Norris Street. The cojoining structures vary in height from 5 to 8 storeys, and include the Grade II-listed Empire Cinema on Haymarket. This building will be retained in totality, with its Portland stone facade and slate roof fully rebuilt and topped by two new stories of traditional mansard.
BIM Technologies is currently supporting St James' Market, having been appointed directly by The Crown Estates to provide Project Information Manager services. The project is ongoing, with BIM Technologies providing PrIM support in line with the approach established on 33-35 Picadilly and the New Zealand House.
Our role includes reviewing and auditing project information to assess compliance with The Crown Estate's information protocols, supporting the project team through key gateways and helping prepare the information environment for progression towards Main Contractor Appointment.
This ongoing appointment reinforced BIM Technologies' continued relationship with The Crown Estate and our role in providing consistent digital assurance across their project portfolio.
Key serviced being provided include: Client-side Project Information Manager services, gateway audits, information compliance reviews, model coordination and class detection support, support to project information development ahead of Main Contractor Appointment, and ongoing digital assurance for The Crown Estate.
